 14.  Additional rules for admissions to diploma courses in Unaided Polytechnics:
  • As per Government Education and Employment Department Resolution No.TEM-3382/111836(190)-TE-1A, dated 21st May 1983, the Rules for admission to Diploma Course in Government and Aided Polytechnics will be applicable to Unaided Private Polytechnics also, wherever the qualifying examination and eligibility conditions are the same. These Polytechnics should observe the reservation of seats for Backward Class applicants as laid down in these Rules

  • Unaided Private Polytechnics /Institutions shall call applications from the eligible students from the recognized institutes/schools in Maharashtra and outside Maharashtra within the period as specified by the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai. Unaided Private Polytechnics can offer the vacant seats, if any, after the admissions of eligible students from the recognized institutes/schools in Maharashtra, to eligible students from the recognized institutes/schools outside Maharashtra, maximum to the extent of 20 percent of sanctioned intake. But in any case, for admission to the course, the candidate must fulfil the eligibility condition as mentioned in Rule 2.0. Also, the percentage of out side Maharashtra candidates so admitted should not exceed 20% of the sanctioned intake for any course in the institution. However if the vacancies exist more than 20% of the Sanctioned Intake Capacity after exhausting Institute Level Merit List of aspiring candidates from Maharashtra State, then the institutions have to apply to The Director of Technical Education, M. S., Mumbai for obtaining approval to fill up such vacancies from among the candidates from Outside Maharashtra State.

  • In case, the Government due to excess admissions during last year reduces the sanctioned intake, the sanctioned intake for such polytechnics shall be as per the directives from the Government from time to time

  • The merit list and the list of admitted students shall be submitted for approval to the Joint Director of Technical Education, Regional Office, within two weeks time from the last date of admission specified by the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai
