2. Eligibility Criteria:

2.1 Educational Qualification:

To be eligible for admission to first year of diploma course in Engineering / Technology, the candidate should have;

passed Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, or any other equivalent examination with and in

secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in aggregate in case of Backward Class candidates belonging to Maharashtra State), from a recognized school in Maharashtra State.

Note: The term 'aggregate marks' used here shall mean the grand total marks obtained by the candidate, takentogether for all the subjects, whether compulsory or optional.

2.2 Admission to Mining and Mine Surveying course:

The female candidates are not allowed to take admission in Mining and Mine Surveying course.

2.3 Types of Maharashtra State Candidates:

Sr. No.	Type of candidate	Eligibility requirement and District area under which the candidate is eligible for District level 70% seats.
1	Type - A(Maharashtra Statecandidate)	Candidate Passing Std. VIII, IX and X examination from any recognized school in Maharashtra state will be treated as Maharashtra State Candidate. For such candidate domicile certificate is not essential. Type - A candidate is eligible for District level 70% seats in the district under the jurisdiction of which the place of passing the qualifying examination falls.
2	Type - B(Maharashtra Domiciledcandidates )	Candidate Passing Std. VIII / IX / X examination from a recognized School outside Maharashtra state. And Father / other of the candidate is domiciled in the state of Maharashtra. Type - B candidate is eligible for District level 70% seats in that district under the jurisdiction of which the place of issuing authority of domicile certificate for the parents of the candidate falls in the state of Maharashtra.
3	Type - C(Sons and daughters of central Govt. / Govt. of India Undertaking employee)	Candidate Passing Std. VIII / IX / X examination from a recognized School outside Maharashtra state. AND Father / Mother of the candidate is a central Govt. / Govt. of India Undertaking employee who is posted in Maharashtra and reported for duty before the last date for submitting of application form. Type - C candidates are eligible for District level 70% seats in that District under the jurisdiction of which the place of posting of the parent of the candidate who is a Central Govt. / Govt. of India Undertaking employee falls in the state of Maharashtra.
4	Type - D(Sons and daughters of Maharashtra State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt. undertaking employee reported for duty in Maharashtra state after completion of deputation period outside Maharashtra)	Candidate Passing Std. VIII / IX / X examination from a recognized School outside Maharashtra state. AND Father / Mother of the candidate is a Maharashtra State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt. undertaking employee who is transferred from other state to Maharashtra and reported for duty in Maharashtra Or returned from deputation to other state back to Maharashtra and reported for duty in Maharashtra before the last date for submitting application form. Type - D candidates are eligible for District level 70% seats in that District under the jurisdiction of which the place of posting of the Father / Mother of the candidate who is a Maharashtra State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt. undertaking employee falls in the state of Maharashtra.
5	Type - E(Maharashtra StateCandidate)(Sons and daughters of Maharashtra State Govt. / Maharashtra State Govt undertaking / Central Govt. / Govt. of India Undertaking employee who is transferred to a place in another District and the candidate intends to shift to the District where the Father / Mother are posted).	Candidate Passing Std. VIII, IX and X examination from a recognized School in Maharashtra State. AND Father / Mother of the candidate is a State Govt. / State Govt. Undertaking / Central Govt. / Govt. of India Undertaking employee who is transferred to a place in another District from the place of passing of qualifying examination of their children in Maharashtra and reported for duty before the last date for submitting of application form. Type - E candidate is eligible for District level 70% seats in that district under the jurisdiction of which the place of posting of the parents of the candidate who is a State Govt. / State Govt. Undertaking Central Govt. / Govt. of India Undertaking employee, falls in the state of Maharashtra.

Note:

Candidate has to claim only one type of candidature (A, B, C, D & E) while submitting the application form.
Claiming facility under type B, C, D & E is optional. However it is binding on the candidate to produce all the documentary proofs along with the application form to claim the facility.

2.4 Admission to Candidates who had taken admission to first year diploma course during the previous academic year:

A candidate who had taken admission to first year of diploma course during the previous academic year is eligible for the admission to first year diploma course during the current academic year subject to the condition that the earlier admission is cancelled before the last date for submission of application form for the current academic year. Such candidates will not be eligible for exemption of any subjects passed during the earlier admission.
