| 8. Fees, concessions, cancellations and refund: |

100% refund of fees for the candidates who have cancelled their admission
and secured the admission in any other Govt. / Govt. Aided institute.
8.1 Fees prescribed:
The annual tuition fees and other fees for Govt., Govt-Aided and Un-Aided
Institutes as prescribed by the Government vide GR No. TEM 3396/7656 T.E.-1, dated 15th May 2000,
is as indicated below:
Fees is to be paid to the institute at the time of Admission.
A) Tuition Fees & other fees: For Govt. / Govt.Aided Polytechnics:
i) Tuition Fees:

B) Tuition Fees & other fees: For Un- Aided Polytechnics
Tuition fees & other fees for Un-Aided Polytechnics as fixed by Shikshan
Sulka Samiti will be made available on web site www.dte.org.in.
8.2 Caution Money:
Caution money deposits received from the students shall be refunded after
successful completion of the course or after cancelling the admisssion. Unless there is any recovery, no
deduction shall be made from the caution money deposit. However, the amount of caution money deposit shall
be transferred to Students Aid Fund in case of Un-Aided colleges and credited to Government in case of
Government and Non Government-Aided College, if candidate does not apply for refund,
within 3 complete financial years after the student actually
leaves the institution;
or
within 3 complete financial years after the date of successful
completion of the course, whichever is earlier.
8.3 Less tuition fee charged by college:
In case the candidate is admitted to a college where the tuition fee is less
than that prescribed by the Government, the Principal of the concerned college shall refund the difference.
8.4 Concessions in tuition fee:
8.4.1 E.B.C Concession:
Candidates claiming concessions for Economically Backward Class (E.B.C.)
admitted in Govt., and Govt.-Aided Polytechnics according to the Rules, shall, at the time of admission,
produce a certificate from the Executive Magistrate to the effect that the candidate belongs to
EBC category. They shall, on admission, also submit an application in the prescribed form for being granted
the concession of free education, to the appropriate authorities through the college to which
they are admitted within one month from the actual date of joining of college or as may be required.
The students shall note that applications received after the due date may not be considered and in that case,
they will have to pay the necessary fees. The concessions in tuition fee at the time of admission will
be given only for Government and Government-Aided Institutions. In case of Un - Aided colleges, the
respective colleges will refund the fees paid by the candidates after the respective competent authority
grants the concession.
8.4.2 Concession for sons and daughters of Teaching and Non-teaching
staff of Primary, secondary and Higher secondary schools:
Candidates claiming concessions for sons and daughters of primary, secondary
school and higher secondary schools (junior colleges) teachers or non teaching staff admitted in Govt.,
and Govt.-Aided Polytechnics category according to the Rules, shall, at the time of admission, produce

8.5 Cancellation of admission:
The candidate should have taken admission by paying necessary tuition
and other fees and should have submitted original certificates before the candidate applies for
cancellation. In case candidate fails to submit any of the original documents within the allowed
time limit, the admission shall be treated as cancelled. Refund of fees shall not be applicable to
such candidates.
The candidate desirous of cancelling admission shall apply for
cancellation in the proforma-O only
The candidate cancelling admission shall forfeit the candidature and
no longer be considered for the admission offered by the Competent Authority during the current year
and fees shall be refunded to the candidate after deducting an amount as prescribed in these rules.
All cancellations shall be made at the concerned Polytechnic where
the candidate is admitted.
8.6 Issue of School/College Leaving Certificate:
If during the course of studies, a candidate desires to discontinue
studies for any reason whatsoever, he or she shall be allowed to do so and it shall be presumed
that he or she has cancelled admission at that stage. The Principal shall issue Institution Leaving
Certificate and fees shall be refunded as provided in these rules.
If the admission is cancelled on or before 15th September of the
admission year, the original school or college leaving certificate on the strength of which a
candidate was admitted shall be returned.
If the admission is cancelled after 15th September of the admission year,
the leaving certificate from the institution where the candidate was finally admitted should be issued.
A true copy of the original school or college leaving certificate retained by the institute may be issued,
if requested by the candidate, duly attested by the Head of the Institute.
8.7 Refund of fees:
8.7.1 Part Refund of Tuition fees:
The candidate who has been provisionally admitted may cancel admission
by submitting an application in duplicate, in the prescribed pro forma and may request for refund of fees.
The refund of fees as applicable shall be made in due course. It is made clear that such application for
cancellation will be considered if and only if the admission is taken provisionally by paying the prescribed
tuition fee as mentioned in these rules. Refund of tuition fees shall be made after deduction of the amount
as shown below :

Note: In case of candidates belonging to SC / ST / VJ / DT / NT-1 / NT-2 / NT-3 /
OBC who have secured a seat in Govt.or Govt Aided Polytechnic, the amount specified in the Sr. No. 1
of the above table is to be levied on the candidates as cancellation charges on cancellation of admission
before handing over the original certificates.
If the admission is cancelled up to the 'Cut off date' or thereafter,
as mentioned in the admission schedule, the refund shall be made after deducting the cancellation
charges as prescribed in these rules, within 15 days from the date of receiving cancellation application,
by the concerned admission centre.
8.7.2 Part Refund of Other fees:
The candidate who is cancelling admission shall apply for refund of other fee to the principal of the
institute where he has reported after admission. Refund of other fees for students
admitted to the college shall be made after deduction as under:
i) Deduction from Development fee:

ii) Refund of Gymkhana Fee, Training & Placement Fee, Library Fee, Library & Laboratory Caution
Money Deposit, Internet & E-mail Facilities Fee, Annual Social Gathering & Other Cultural Activities Fee, Hostel
fee and others for all the candidates excluding Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin etc: |

Note:
If the admission is cancelled up to the 'Cut off date'
or thereafter, as mentioned in the admission schedule, the refund shall be made after deducting the
cancellation charges as prescribed in these rules, within 15 days from the date of receiving cancellation
application, by the concerned admission centre.
8.7.3 Extra:
If a candidate expires or becomes invalid within 90 days from the date of
admission, full refund of all fees shall be made to the parent guardian of the candidate.
